Build an ADU in Los Angeles
Detached ADUs, attached units, garage conversions, and junior ADUs — extra living space that adds rental income and lasting value to property you already own.
The Smartest Square Footage You Can Add
An ADU is a second home on land you already own. For LA homeowners, it's one of the most practical investments available.
Rental Income
A well-built ADU can become long-term rental income — a second unit working for you on land you already own.
Property Value
Adding permitted, livable square footage is one of the most reliable ways to increase what your property is worth.
Room for Family
Aging parents, adult kids, a home office, or guests — an ADU adds flexible space without uprooting anyone.
Use the Land You Own
Most LA lots have unused space. An ADU turns a back yard or tired garage into a real, functional home.
Four Ways to Add a Unit
Every lot is different. We'll help you choose the option that fits your property, budget, and goals.
Detached ADU
A free-standing new build in your yard — a complete small home with its own entrance, kitchen, and systems.
Attached ADU
A new unit built onto your existing home, sharing one wall while keeping its own separate entry and utilities.
Garage Conversion
We convert an existing garage into livable space — new insulation, systems, and finishes brought fully up to code.
Junior ADU (JADU)
A compact unit created within the footprint of your existing home — an efficient option on tighter lots.

ADU FAQ
How long does it take to build an ADU?
Most ADUs take roughly four to eight months of construction once permits are issued, depending on size, site access, and whether it is a new build or a conversion. Permitting and design add time on the front end — we give you a realistic full timeline at consultation.
How much does an ADU cost in Los Angeles?
Cost depends heavily on size, site conditions, utility connections, and finish level, so any number without a site visit is a guess. After we walk your property we give you a firm, itemized estimate — no vague allowances.
Can I rent out my ADU?
Yes. ADUs can be rented as long-term housing, which is one of the most common reasons LA homeowners build them. We design with that use in mind — a real kitchen, proper sound separation, and its own entrance.
Do you handle ADU permits?
We do. We prepare the construction documents and manage the full permitting process with your local jurisdiction, including California’s streamlined ADU review where it applies.
Is a garage conversion cheaper than a new ADU?
Often, yes — you are reusing an existing slab and structure. But garages need new insulation, systems, and code upgrades to become livable space. We will tell you honestly whether a conversion or a new detached build is the better value for your property.
