Rebuilding Altadena, One Home at a Time
The Eaton Fire changed Altadena. We're here to help you rebuild — with a contractor who has built in Altadena's fire zone and knows what the process demands.
We've Built in This Fire Zone
We're not new to Altadena or to fire-zone construction. Our Windfall project — 2,877 sq ft of ground-up new construction in Altadena's very high fire severity zone — was built with Class A fire-rated materials throughout, to the exact standards your rebuild requires.
We know the terrain, the setback requirements, the utility situations, and the neighborhood. Rebuilding here isn't unfamiliar territory for us.
Altadena Permitting
Altadena is unincorporated Los Angeles County — so your permits go through LA County Public Works, not LADBS. The process, fees, and timelines differ from City of LA, and we work them regularly.
- Jurisdiction — unincorporated LA County, not City of LA
- Like-for-like rebuilds — expedited first plan check review
- Self-certification pilot may apply to some designs
- Altadena One-Stop Rebuild Center for in-person support
Fire-Zone Building Requirements
Altadena sits in a very high fire severity zone. Every assembly in your rebuild must meet specific fire-resistance ratings:
- Non-combustible, Class A rated roofing
- Ember-resistant vents throughout
- Fire-rated windows and exterior doors
- Non-combustible siding and exterior materials
- Defensible space and fire-resistant landscaping
- Enclosed eaves and soffits
